O renomado ator e diretor Wagner Moura, aos 47 anos de idade, expressou suas preocupações sobre a polarização política e a importância do jornalismo em uma recente entrevista ao programa Estúdio CBN, realizada nesta terça-feira (16). Moura, que é um dos protagonistas do filme hollywoodiano “Guerra Civil”, destacou que a polarização representa uma ameaça significativa para a democracia atualmente.
“Guerra Civil”, que tem sua estreia prevista para esta quinta-feira (18) nos cinemas brasileiros, retrata um cenário distópico nos Estados Unidos, onde uma nova guerra civil assola o país. O filme, dirigido por Alex Garland, segue uma equipe de jornalistas que viajam pelo país para documentar a magnitude e a violência do conflito, contando com um elenco estelar que inclui Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Cailee Spaeny, além do próprio Moura.
Moura enfatizou que, embora o filme tenha relevância para o atual contexto dos Estados Unidos, ele não possui uma agenda ideológica. “Quando eu li esse roteiro percebi que o filme era a minha cara, é o tipo de filme que eu gosto. Aquele que tem algo para dizer ao mesmo tempo que tenha algo atrativo para as pessoas”, comentou o ator sobre sua escolha de participar do projeto.
Para se preparar para o papel, Moura mergulhou no universo do jornalismo de guerra, lendo diversos livros e conversando com três jornalistas experientes. Ele ressaltou a importância do jornalismo profissional e expressou sua preocupação com o declínio dessa profissão como algo fundamental para a democracia.
